Linear Tape Open LTO is a new cost competitive backup tape format designed to meet the demands of high capacity, high performance data storage applications. The Ultrium 2 cartridge has a capacity of 200GB native or 400GB compressed, and is capable of supporting transfer rates of 40MB native or 80MB compressed per second. Magnetic servo technology for highly accurate tracking. A patented ceramic coating process allows the tape to withstand one million readwrite cycles. Exceptional leader pin stability. Non contact 4KB cartridge memory for indexing. Compatible with all Ultrium 1 and Ultrium 2 drives. Tape length 2000 feet 609 meters.
